Achieving happiness through work. Our furry family members are happiest when they are at work. At Eudaimonia Dog Training, we offer instruction, support, and growth for the entire family to help build and strengthen this working relationship. Chris Mallick, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, has been working with families for over 10 years and brings charisma and immense knowledge while helping to navigate growth and change. To assist you in understanding behavioural change, Eudaimonia Dog Training employs a tried-and-true training methodology while teaching a progressive forward thinking format of training known as the Clarity Model.  Eudaimonia Dog Training uses the least invasive, minimally aversive approach, otherwise known as LIMA, and is recommended by the Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Chris is also employed with Buck Animal Hospital and Laurelwood Veterinary Hospital, with a goal to assist even more families and the networks of people who support them.

About

Fully Certified Trainer

My name is Christopher Mallick. I have been training dogs for over ten years. I began working at the Guelph Humane Society as a dog walker after graduating from The University of Guelph with a focus in Philosophy and Psychology. My work in the shelters fostered a passion for helping dogs in need and the families who love them. I then began my formal dog training career with Petsmart, where I spent several years as one of their leading trainers in Canada. Eager to evolve along with the dog training industry, I became a member of the Certified Professional Dog Trainers Association and obtained my certification as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). A year later, I received my certification as a Certified Behavioural Consultant Canine (CBCC-KA).

With new ideas and ongoing education, I am now progressing in my field. I have created my own training philosophy, The Clarity Model, employing a system for clear communication and understanding. The humane hierarchy as a guide for behaviour modification is scientifically proven but my new approach gives the hierarchy greater context, bringing an old system into a modern methodology. As a member of the professional association, I advocate for the least invasive, minimally aversive approach of structuring learning (LIMA).

Mission

Eudaimonia is Ancient Greek for Happiness Through Work. Our mission together is to create growth and change through structure, communication, and work. To understand the process of behavioural analysis promotes the maintenance of growth and change. The focus of our mission is always well-being.

Vision

Our vision is to create progress in the field of dog training. Understanding the science and psychology is just the beginning. Continuing education is necessary for peer competition and review. Challenge fosters growth. At Eudaimonia Dog Training our vision for the future is to develop the most modern structured approaches to dog training and to communicate our ideas to clients in an easily accessible and applicable manner.

TESTIMONIALS

Tannis and Sadie

We learned so much the first session to calm and control Sadie’s need to herd everything and everyone. I have seen results using their tips in just a few days ! She seems happier and less anxious too with the new boundaries.

Chris has been helping me with my rescue dogs for over 5 years now.
The difference he has made in each of them has been incredible.
He has helped with nearly every type of behaviour problem from aggression, walking issues and even the fear of putting a harness on and simply stepping outside. He uses multiple methods and works with you to come up with a plan that is best suited for the dog and the situation.
I can’t thank him enough not only for the changes in my dogs but also for the knowledge and confidence he has given me as an owner.

Julie

Great dog training classes for all levels. Chris is knowledgeable, friendly, and always takes time to answer questions.

Julia

Chris is an exceptional trainer, he always ensures to explain even a simple behaviour multiple ways such that everyone can understand. He makes sure that you are on track and answers any questions to better help you reach your goals.

We would like to thank Chris for everything he did for our dog and for us. Our 1-year-old puppy just completed 6-week course for the beginners, and we see huge difference. Chris’s classes are very well organised: informative, supportive, practical, and a lot of fun. Lessons printouts were very useful for home review and exercising. We and our puppy learned a lot. Chris approached every dog in our small group very individually, perfectly noting changes in patterns from class to class and pointing out what you and your dog needed.

Highly recommend taking this course. You will see and feel your baby dog differently by the end of classes. Huge difference between first class and last class.

Working with Chris has changed my life. I brought home Boimler as a puppy who had been bounced around several homes, he had some big challenges with the world. The first time we met Chris was during a private class in an empty building, Boimler spent the first 20 minutes barking at Chris before settling down enough to start working. Through hours of hard work using positive reinforcement Boimler has learned how to interact with people and even other dogs in appropriate ways expected not just as a pet but also as an incredible service dog in training. I plan soon to be able to graduate him to a fully trained service dog, we couldn’t have done it without Chris and his guidance over the last 2 years working together.

Thank you. Laura and Boimler

Chris has been and continues to be an incredible, kind and a very humble individual who has helped our family and our almost 1 year old puppy Crosby immensely. Crosby is currently in his third level (the dogtorate program) of training at The Dog Rink with Chris. We have noticed an incredible improvement in Crosby’s behavior and skills. Chris’s level of communication and knowledge is outstanding and has really helped increase our confidence with training and raising a puppy. We are beyond grateful for all of Chris’s support and continuous guidance.
We would highly recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for a professional and talented dog trainer.
The dog rink is an absolutely amazing facility!!

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for all your help with Bella, you went above and beyond and I could have never done it without you. It is remarkable how far she has come. She now loves playing with kids and doesn’t rip my arm off when she sees another dog. She still has some work to do but I am confident with the skills you have shown me that she is going to do great! Thank you So much!
